Public Interest/Public Sector (PI/PS) Legal Careers Day

Saturday, February 6 | 9 am – 5:15 pm | UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco
As most of you know, PI/PS Day is a great opportunity to secure a summer (or fall) legal position, and to learn about different public sector (government) and public interest practice areas. PI/PS Day has two components, Meet the Advocates and Formal Interviews. Some employers will be attending Meet the Advocates, others will be conducting formal on-site interviews, and some will be doing both. The profiles will specify from what class year employers would like to hire (1L, 2L, or 3L) and what materials you should submit or bring with you.

All of you should have recently received an email from the Public Interest Clearinghouse (www.pic.org) that included a password to access the PI/PS Day online system. If you did not receive an email containing your password, please email pipsday@pic.org.

Meet the Advocates
There will be information tables at PI/PS Day where you can meet and talk to various types of public interest and government employers. This portion of the event is called "Meet the Advocates." The PI/PS Day online system will state which employers are participating in Meet the Advocates. No registration is necessary to participate in Meet the Advocates. However, it is best to prepare questions in advance and bring copies of your resume.

Meet the Advocates will take place from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm on PI/PS Day.

Formal Interviews
Some employers will be conducting formal interviews on site at PI/PS Day. You can apply for an on-site interview by using the PI/PS Day online system, which can be accessed at www.pic.org. Instructions for using the system are provided on the website.

Formal interviews will take place from 9 am until 5:15 pm on PI/PS Day.
